I began my role in mortgage advice back in May 2008 which was as it turned out very unfortunate timing on my part due to the housing market crash. Even now I recall available mortgages at that time being retracted from the sourcing systems almost as quickly as we could source them. However, I decided to continue and worked on the premise surely it can only get easier from here!  My role still involves speaking to clients to offer them not only an independent mortgage option but to be a consistent point of contact throughout the whole process. With regular communication, they can find assurance there is someone they can get in touch with for support and guidance at every step of their journey.

‍What do you enjoy most about your job?
‍My role itself brings new challenges daily and often involves far more problem solving than most people are aware of. Finding the solution for a new client that has been unsuccessful elsewhere before coming to us is particularly rewarding.

‍What is your ‘key bit of advice’ or ‘favourite quote’?
If you don’t know the answer when asked a question, simply say you do not know the answer… but promise to go away and find it out!  

‍Tell me more about Ross…
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my young children.  I do enjoy taking my son to play football, he has recently joined Carnforth FC Under 5’s and enjoys it immensely. We also have a baby daughter who loves nothing more than to listen to her brother practice reading his books every day for school, she smiles whenever she hears him. By the time they are both worn out for the day and in bed, I am not that far behind!
